When Mary Connealy burst onto the scene with her books, she brought a unique, hilarious voice that I like to read. I loved all three stories in the Montana Marriages series, but I believe The Husband Tree was my absolute favorite.
You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. Then laugh again. Over and over.
I could say her historicals are hysterical. I laugh out loud while reading her books more than I do in almost every other author. Not only are the characters quirky, the situations she places them in rank up there right along with them. I’m not going to tell you why the tree is called The Husband Tree, but that’s one of the funniest parts of the book.
In addition to the humor in her books, there’s poignancy as well. You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. Then laugh again. Over and over. I will never tire of reading Mary Connealy’s books.
I was not the least surprised that The Husband Tree finaled in the Carol Award contest. To see why, you’ll need to read this exciting romance.
