In Susan May Warren’s Sons of Thunder, a woman is torn between the love of two men and the promise that binds them all together. One of these sons offers a future she longs for, the other the past she lost.
Few authors rise to Susan May Warren’s level of expertise in this genre.
The first book in what is sure to be an incredible series, Sons of Thunder is passionately romantic, tragically beautiful, heart wrenching, and deeply moving. The passion, the heartache, the longing for love and acceptance shown in this story make this book exceptional. Warren’s perfect job at building tension and providing a realistic plot moved me to tears several times.
Sons of Thunder inspired me spiritually by showing how God knows our greatest need and often allows us to go through the fire to bring us where He wants us to be. This author deserves to be a Carol Award finalist because of the depth of emotion and the believability of the characters she created. Fully entrenched in the past, I didn’t want to do anything but read this book.
Warren knows how to write historical romance. Few authors rise to her level of expertise in this genre.
