Photographer Polly Perkins is hired to photograph a friend’s wedding and finds a love interest, a murder victim, and an ability to read expressions that may help her stop another murder.
I had to keep reading just to see how it would turn out.
I love to read all kinds of mysteries and suspense novels, and this cozy mystery is no exception. Elizabeth Goddard created a whole cast of quirky characters and dropped them into a resort near a national park in Oregon. 
The setting lends itself to the development of the mystery, and the heroine’s profession, photography, enhances the mysterious elements of the plot.
Goddard puts in plenty of red herrings and possible suspects, intermingled with an equal number of motives for the murder. I had to keep reading just to see how it would turn out.
Along the way, her heroine meets the love of her life. Of course, that’s not essential to a good mystery, but I like all the fiction books I read to have a romantic element. Goddard doesn’t disappoint in that department either.
I was happy for Goddard when I learned her mystery is a Carol Award winner. I recommend you read it for yourself and see why.
