Rubart is an author who has learned his craft well and applied what he’s learned to his story.
Some have compared Rooms to The Shack because of the spiritual and supernatural feel of the book. I’ve read both. I loved The Shack, and I love Rooms. While the first book has a rougher feel, Rooms is refined and well defined. James L. Rubart is an author who has learned his craft well and applied what he’s learned to his story.
I often tell songwriter Zach Neese that he writes the songs my heart feels in words better than I could ever come up with. I feel the same way about Rooms. Rubart captures what my heart feels about our awesome—and I don’t use that word lightly—God, and His amazing forgiveness and powers of restoration.
The book deals with spiritual warfare, a realm many Christians want to ignore or deny. But Rubart writes in such a way that it’s completely believable and acceptable. Rooms is thought provoking. I recommend readers take time to let the words soak into their spirits. If they do, it can change their lives for the better in many ways.
It came as no surprise to me that Rooms is a Carol Award finalist. The book grabbed my heart on the first page, and by the time I reached the last page, I knew I needed a “rooms” experience with God in my own life.
You won’t want to miss this book; it’s destined to become a classic.
